A break down of the eras of Enduro karts.
Early – Karts run with no bumpers and a short overall length. During this time there was lots of experimentation. Karters finally settled on the full laydown position. The period essentially ended in 1975 when the rules were changed to require bumpers.
Mid – Karts run to rules requiring front bumpers and slightly longer overall lengths. Many consider this to be the “Golden Age” of Enduro karting.
Late – Karts run after the rules were changed to allow a much greater amount of bodywork.
Superkart / Euopean – Karts run in FKE classes with the full bodywork and imported karts. Typically gearbox karts.
